The Alte Schmiede chalet is nestled in the tranquil mountain landscape of Lower Austria and combines historic architecture with a warm, minimalist atmosphere. The former blacksmith’s shop has been carefully transformed into a peaceful retreat for two—characterized by aged wood, natural materials, and a deliberate sense of tranquility and simplicity.
The chalet consists of a separate living area and bathhouse, connected by a light-filled sunroom with large sliding glass doors. In the living area, cozy seating nooks with books and candles, a spacious dining area with a view of the countryside, and natural materials create a peaceful and personal atmosphere. The centerpiece is the king-size bed made of oak planks, featuring high-quality pocket-spring mattresses, organic hemp comforters, and hypoallergenic bedding. The fully equipped kitchenette offers everything you need for leisurely breakfasts and relaxed evenings at your own pace.
Culinary delights and regional products are also part of the stay. Upon arrival, guests will find a well-stocked refrigerator with milk, cheese, sausage, spreads, yogurt, fresh juices, homemade jam, organic honey, and organic eggs. Coffee, a variety of teas, and basic kitchen ingredients are also provided. Seasonal fruits and vegetables come directly from the farm or the region, depending on the time of year. Fresh pastries and other items can be easily ordered daily and quietly delivered to the breakfast box in the morning.
The separate bathhouse features a Finnish sauna and a sanarium with a view of the mountains, spacious showers, and plush hand towels, bath towels, and sauna towels, as well as bathrobes and slippers. Outside, a sheltered patio, sun loungers, a Weber gas grill, and a secluded hot tub add to the home’s special atmosphere.
Surrounded by forests, mountains, and fresh air, the chalet is ideal for peaceful getaways in nature, hikes, and slow travel away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Wi-Fi, final cleaning, parking, and a charging station for electric cars and e-bikes are included.
