Located on the ground floor of the historic tenuta, the apartment is a pleasantly compact retreat for two at around 43 m². The apartment includes a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, an open-plan living and dining kitchen, and a small storage room. Right outside the door lies the private little garden—a secluded spot in the greenery where the day can naturally begin with a coffee or end with a glass of wine.
It is an apartment for those who appreciate simplicity and long for a place where time moves a little slower. Mornings out in the private garden, later perhaps a walk through the vineyards or an excursion to one of the small Tuscan villages. And returning in the evening to open the windows and let the day fade away without any grand plans.
The apartment is part of an extensive, historic country estate that today houses a total of ten holiday apartments. In addition to the private areas of the individual apartments, there are various communal lounge areas open to all guests, giving the property its special, lively character. At the same time, the size of the approximately 16-hectare grounds offers enough space to retreat and enjoy the peace for oneself. This creates a pleasant mix of privacy and the wonderful feeling of not being entirely alone in a special place.
Vineyards, 770 olive trees, meadows, and a small poplar forest stretch out around the tenuta. The history of the property as a winery and farm is still palpable today. A walking path leads through the vineyards to a bocce court, and the estate’s own Chianti D.O.C.G. and olive oil are produced directly on-site. It is a landscape that does not need to be loud to leave an impression.
Dione is also wonderfully situated for exploration. Montaione lies in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence, Siena, and Pisa. The famous cities can be easily reached on a day trip, but it is at least as beautiful to discover the smaller towns, restaurants, and wineries in the surrounding area or simply follow the paths through the countryside. The Castelfalfi Golf Club is about 25 kilometers away.
The warm, German-speaking hosts are happy to help with personal recommendations and, upon request, can assist in organizing horse riding excursions, tennis courts, or bicycle rentals. Breakfast can also be offered by prior arrangement. It is free for children up to six years old, costs €7 for children aged seven to twelve, and €14 per person for those aged 13 and over. Registration takes place directly with the host after booking.
The apartment’s amenities include dishes, a coffee machine, a hairdryer, towels, bath towels, and bed linen. Air conditioning and heating ensure pleasant temperatures in every season.
It is not a large place, but a personal one. One where you step into the garden in the morning, have the Tuscan landscape before you, and quickly realize that you don’t actually need much. An old house, a private little garden, vineyards and olive trees at the door—and at the same time, the opportunity to share the special communal areas and the atmosphere of a historic estate with other guests.
